Wine Thoughts

Sparkling:  Scharffenberger Brut Excellence.  I LOVE this sparkler.  I experience green apple on the palate and brioche on the nose.  For sipping or enjoying with plentiful hors d'oeuvres it is just perfect ... and reasonably priced!

Red:  Famille Perrin L'Oustalet Organic Blend.  This is a blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvédre and Merlot that I really enjoy with a hearty meal.  It's deep luscious red color entices you to take the first sip.  I experience cherries and plums at first and then a peppery bite at the end.  Once again, terrific wine, made by world renowned wine makers at a surprisingly reasonable price.

Organization and Other Thoughts

  • Check your pantry.  Do you already have: extra virgin olive oil, cayenne pepper, kosher salt?
  • We have been using the Colavita extra virgin olive oil and think it is very good.
  • I had no idea there was such a thing as non-stick aluminum foil until Sue told me about it.  If you can't find it, spray your regular aluminium foil with PAM after you line the pan.
